5 Mother's Day

The end of the year is nice because it lends some time to doing different activities! We've done a few things for Mother's Day.
First, I made bookmarks. A shout out to my sister who totally helped out with the first round of cutting. (There were 3 rounds....) Very time consuming and I love my kids but heaven knows they would not have been able to make these look too nice. So I did it instead.
Happy Mother's Day! Love, Your Child's Teacher....
Cutting, cutting, cutting, laminating, making tassels. I'm okay with never doing it again. But I must admit, they turned out darling and the kids LOVED (understatement) them! Here are the first 5 that are completely done:
Can anyone guess what I'll be doing the rest of the night??

We also filled in this newpaper article. There was a column on the newspaper where they had to check off boxes of nice qualities that apply to their mom. I told them they would be wise to check off more boxes than less to not offend their mother. Some students took that advice quite seriously and would check off EVERY box except just one (pretty, or smart, or cheerful, etc). Do I go back with a pencil and check it off? Nah. Their mom's will think it's funny. I think/hope.

Finally, we wrote their moms a card. I bulleted different pieces of information that they had to include in their letter and proofread them before they transferred them over. The things they wrote were so sweet. I didn't have to ask one kid to write more or help them brainstorm. Props.

This activity requires about 8,000 pounds of tissue paper cut into 1 square inch.

It also requires about 12 hours......

But they have a ton of fun with it.
Feeling very on top of things at the moment. I'm usually trying to keep my head above water throughout the school year and I'm currently 5 days ahead of schedule. A standing ovation, please.
