6 General Conference

I love General Conference! I've been extra looking forward to it for the last couple of weeks. So grateful for these messages.

We have a General Conference tradition around here:
Monkey Balls!

Yes, I realize it's called Monkey Bread but I made this for breakfast back in 2010 for Sean and friends and he later texted me asking if we could eat some Monkey Balls again. Wrong name, but somehow it stuck. So at the Kent house, we eat Monkey Balls, as graphic as that is.

The tradition started in the Cheetah Mansion a few years ago so you can imagine how happy I got when Natalie texted me last night asking me for the recipe.
I love traditions, even though they might be insignificant, like what you eat for General Conference. And I'm going to be real here, the recipe I have is the best recipe of Monkey Bread I've ever tasted. It's so good but you can always expect a food coma afterwards.

Conference has been amazing. The quote from President Monson's talk at the Relief Society session last Saturday has been repeating in my head continuously this week:

"Your Heavenly Father loves you, each of you. That love never changes... it is not changed by your talents or abilities. It is simply there. It is there for you when you are sad or happy, discouraged or hopeful. God's love is there for you, whether or not you deserve love. It is simply, always there... I promise that one day you will stand aside, look at your difficult times and realize He was always there beside you."

  1. It does not surprise me at all that Sean changed the name. Looks delicious!

  2. Haha. Similar thing happened when we got married. We have this tradition on Thanksgiving. Husbands family called them "sticky buns" and mine called them "monkey bread" and hence the name "monkey buns" was born.

    1. A hybrid name can always get a little scary!

  3. YUM!!! Is that the actual picture of your bread? So perfect! I'm just glad I was full of green smoothie when I saw it! I think I would have been making it right now! Fun! Love that tradition!

    1. It is our bread but we probably should've been drinking green smoothies. Our diet starts tomorrow....
