6 1 month

I've been back in Provo for an entire month.
Where does the time go? A month ago yesterday I was packing my bags (and bags) having very mixed feelings on returning to Provo. I love home.
That got me thinking of all of the things that have happened in the past month & it's been busy! Allison got married, I started school, my boys have all come home from their missions.... It has been a rollercoaster for me. And I'm not gonna lie, i've been a little down in the dumps lately. I hate that too! I'm always such an upbeat person. I've been trying to figure out what I'm missing & I think I've realized more than ever that I'm terrible with change. I've grown a lot, but for the most part did not appreciate the experiences. Everyone's getting married or doing the mission thing & I feel like there hasn't been a whole lot of stability in my life with people coming & going.
However, I feel truly, truly blessed. The other night when Leslie was in my room she told me she needed to tell me a story and I told her I wanted to say my prayers first but not to worry, it would be fast because I don't have a lot to be thankful for right now. Obviously, I was COMPLETELY kidding because I do. I will honestly tear up if you get me talking about all of the blessings in my life.
Today I was also looking for a specific blog I wrote about a year ago because I was going through similar things then. I couldn't remember the title so I went through every blog entry from the past year. SO great! A blog really is like a journal. I had completely forgotten about so many things that have happened & I was able to see the progress I've made over the year. Yeah, i'm not even gonna be modest, most of them had me cracking up, but that's not anything new, i've always entertained myself.
Bottom line, I'm a lucky girl. Change serrrrriously blows but i'm sure i'll learn to appreciate it all someday. It's too bad I don't have that gypsy blood like my dad...

  1. :) Loved this post. How come I haven't seen you much in this past month? School's kept me mostly busy..and the another thing filling in those gaps currently, I'm sorry I haven't made my way over very much. I'll do better. I love you. and your blog.

  2. Danielle, I see some of me in you. Hate to scare you like that. However, I have always not liked change. I mean, I hate it when my DAILY schedule changes suddenly and without warning. I like the known and the stable environment always. A very good blog, with good internal insight. That says such good things about you, that you can do that. It helps us to access and evaluate how time passes for us. Journals are excellent for that and why we are to keep them, too.

  3. Oh my goodness girlie...amen. I swear we are the same person! I am definitely not one for change. I hate it, but after the fact I always look back and realize that everything happens for a reason and usually works out better than we could have ever imagined. I just love you. Can't wait to hang out!! xoxoxo

  4. I think you are great and I love reading your blog! It makes me laugh that makes 2 people that think your blog is funny. :)

  5. "that's not anything new, i've always entertained myself." ahahahhaa oh dani you kill me. i'm the same way, i hate change, but i know it's good for us. mostly.

    here's a quote for you:
"life is 10% what happens to us, and 90% what we choose to do with it."

    you are amazing, love you!

  6. Wow, true about you...and me actually! I AGREE..I hate change too and yes, Dad does have gypsy blood-how'd we find each other?'re awesome and you know I know that!
