Growing up, my mom always designed and made our dresses. I never thought a thing of it. She tried to teach us to sew by giving us things she thought we'd like to do like making clothes for our beanie babies or designing fun pillow cases. Unfortunately, my projects always ended in tears & anger towards the "dumb sewing machine."
The good news for my mom is that now I want/am dying to sew. The bad news for my mom is I want a sewing machine.
I discovered these vintage patterns online of aprons from WWII. They were on average 45 buckaroos per pattern so I decided I'd just design my own apron & make it.
(I'm pretty sure my mom's laughing right now.)

So, when I'm home this summer, I will shop for mucho fabric & I will make a few different creations. Maybe even sell them on etsy.
mom, seriously, stop laughing.
Haha, so much like me. I figured mom would always sew, why should I learn. Now I am kicking myself for not paying attention when I had the chance!
ReplyDeleteHey, just like me, too... the only difference is I actually own a sewing machine and thought I would be able to figure it out... but I didn't :(
