5 That's What's Up

I mean, this is how I feel at the end of every single day...

It's fine.

A few weeks ago I was sick and kind of just gave up on even trying to be a little bit attractive. The next day I decided that that maybe isn't the best look and I put on some makeup. One of my kids just came up to me and said, "Oh. So you got ready today" and walked off.

Yowzas y'all.

January, February, March (curse you March, with not even one little break!) are the teacher crunch time months. We are moving and shaking errrday. I'm pushing those kids until they tell me their brains are about to explode then we take a quicky break, then we are back to it. I don't sit once except if it's to squat down to help a kid at the carpet.

BUT, I love love love my job. I cannot say that one enough. I feel fulfilled everyday. It's a ton of work. It is absolutely not a 9 to 5, Monday through Friday job but I love what I do. This being my third year, I've been able to balance my life a little bit better. First year teachers, there is hope! I now have a social life, I do side jobs with another one of my loves, design, I cook, my house is (currently) squeaky clean, I can maintain friendships, I can watch the Bachelor and Nashville (of course while grading stacks of papers), I go out every Friday and Saturday AND I go to the gym! I also sleep really really well at night.
I am tired.
I love my job.

I am tired.

  1. There's hope? This job is a vortex that simultaneously fulfills my life while 100% draining my ability to function! Thanks for the reassurance!
