5 Eleanor Rae

Al and Sam's baby Eleanor Rae was born last Tuesday. She's pretttttty freakin cute and I'm kind of obsessed.

I must tell you that about 4 years ago, Allison, my sister Rachel and I were in a child development class together at BYU and the professor for some reason thought it was a good idea to show everyone childbirth from the worst angle of all time. I was super confused because I thought college professors were supposed to be smart. Anyhow, he projected it on the ginormous screen at the front of the auditorium. My sister was totally chill, Allison started bawling and I started a weird laugh/gag combo. We caused a scene to say the least but before I completely explode pictures of her new cute baby, I want to give her a shout out for having one in the first place after her reaction in our class. So, good job Al. Way to conquer PTSD.

This is a few hours after she was born.

This is her giving me the stink eye because I don't remember why.

But probably because, dude, being a baby is hard. You have to take sponge baths and it's freezing, sometimes your bottle is too hot, someone else has to burp you after every meal, you don't even know how to talk so someone could be burping you way too violently and you can't even tell them to chill out. Pretty rough.

This one's my fave because this is right after she was fed and burped and she was so alert. Look at that laser focus! It's incredible because babies until about 3-4 months actually cannot see anything that is more than 12 inches away from them clearly enough to focus in on it.

Elle is a pretty advanced baby.

 I even heard her say, "eat, dada, mama, dog" last night so we're probably going to enter her into Ripley's Believe It or Not.
