Insane in the membrane.
This week.
Has been.
Crzy.
Along with the millions of Halloween/Fall activities we're trying to squeeze in, we are also studying pioneers and the three groups that went west. And of course we can't do anything simple around here, so we make clay pots, carve leather, put together model covered wagons and paint a wild west collage.

Then, today we went on a field trip.

And their Immigrant Dolls were due Monday. I have LOVED having them present their dolls. Only about half my class is caucasian this year so we have lots and lots of awesome stories about how their ancestors came to the United States. I love the diversity in our class. One of my kids even did the native Haka dance for us and it was AMAZING. He yelled the whole dance and was not nervous at all. Seriously, top 5 best moments in the classroom ever. All my kids' eyes were just huge after and we all loved every second of it.

We only have one Native American and all my AZ friends will be happy she's representing your flag!

Is it fall break yet?

  1. FUN!!! You're such a good teacher :) Field trips are fun but SO exhausting! I took my Kindergarteners to the zoo today. I need a nap.

  4. That was as interesting as all get out! Loved the great story telling and my favorite doll was the Swedish one, since my son has a Swedish girlfriend now. Let's just say, you earn your paycheck! Hope you can get a nice break soon but it also looks like you are enjoying yourself, too, Danielle and that is so great!
