So my friends at BYU are really great. We gave ourselves a name: the Cheetahs. We always talk about how for some reason we think we're unstoppable and something else. Every once in awhile, we get a reality check. I just got this email from Maeg and it made me laugh: "I was just studying this test and it reminded me of the Cheetahs. I love that we think we are invincible!" According to the groupthink theory, group members who are overconfident and willing to assume great risks are suffering from:
a. the knew-it-all-along effect
b. the conservative shift phenomenon
c. an illusion of invulnerability
d. an illusion of unanimity
e. mind guarding
yep.
